Dear Joyce;
I just wanted to write a note
to you to tell you of the joy that my new pup Ivy has brought
to our household. Being that I am unfamiliar with
Standard Poodles, I was a little unsure of how this pet would
fit into our family, but after visiting with you, Riley, and
the other pups, I knew that she would be an excellent fit.
Let me say that I am dealing with one smart dog!
Ivy graduated a week early from
her puppy school classes, and the trainer at PetSmart had
said that Ivy was her very first Standard student and that
she'd heard the rumors of how smart Standards were and she
was happy to confirm that she is indeed a very smart dog.
Her disposition is absolutely wonderful, and she is terrific
with my young girls. In fact, she and my 4 year old
have a lot in common; lots of antics and playful energy!
She has even brought my 12
year old Chow mix dog back to a playful dog again; they play
tug-of-war, chase each other, and wrestle constantly. I enjoy taking
her to the pet stores to shop, people immediately come over to
her to meet her and she is so friendly to everyone. People
are generally used to seeing the smaller breed of poodles, but
when they find that she is a Standard Poodle, they ask lots of
questions and are so curious.
Her veterinarian has even commented
that he doesnt see many Standards, and I would hope that this
will soon change as they are an excellent breed of dog. Most
recently, she has discovered her big girl bark, and uses it
quite frequently in the backyard as she feels the need to
protect her surroundings.
I know that she will grow to be
an excellent companion and watchdog for our family.
Ivy comes from excellent parents, this is evident from her
intelligence and appearance as she is just a beautiful dog.
The time and research that you've done in preparation
for breeding really shows, as it will in future litters as
well.
For anyone considering the
addition of a Standard Poodle to their family, I would highly
recommend one of your pups! Jill Monter and Ivy
